Prosecutor's Office of BiH: Lack of prosecutors will slow down work on war crimes cases

The departure of three state prosecutors to positions as judges of the Court of BiH will slow down work on war crimes cases, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH claims.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH told the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the departure of three prosecutors appointed to other positions will slow down work on war crimes cases, as they were working on a number of investigations and trials.

- Because of this, we expect and believe that the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council will as soon as possible carry out the procedure for appointing new prosecutors for these positions, as well as other positions that have been vacated by earlier departures of prosecutors, so that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH can work as efficiently as possible and achieve good results - said the spokesperson of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, Boris Grubešić.

The HJPC appointed in April this year the former prosecutors – Lejla Konjić, Džemila Begović and Sead Đikić to positions as judges of the Court of BiH, Patria reports.
