Prosecutor's Office of BiH and SIPA still silent on "Tegeltija" case

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – There is no official information about the "Milan Tegeltija" case from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, nor will there be until the proceedings are concluded.

Seven days have passed since the portal Žurnal published a video recording about the involvement of the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Tegeltija, in a corruption affair, in which he was supposed to influence the then Chief Prosecutor of Sarajevo Canton, Dalida Burzić, to expedite a criminal case, while Marko Pandža, an inspector of the Agency for Investigations and Protection of BiH (SIPA), took 2,000 KM from businessman Nermin Alešević from Velika Kladuša for Tegeltija's service, noting that he would "grease the wheels" for Tegeltija with that money.

Alešević recorded the meeting in November 2018, and has already given a statement about this affair to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH. It is also unknown whether the President of the HJPC, Milan Tegeltija, has been questioned in this case.

When asked by the Patria agency whether SIPA inspector Marko Pandža had been questioned, as well as whether Nermin Alešević had been offered immunity, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH responded that the case is under investigation.

"We cannot provide information until the proceedings are concluded. After they are concluded, we will inform the public of all details," was the response from Boris Grubešić, spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
As Patria unofficially learns, inspector Pandža is on sick leave, while SIPA has not responded to the inquiry about inspector Pandža's status and what steps they have taken after the publication of the "Tegeltija" affair.

Protests by citizens have been announced for Wednesday, May 29, in front of the building of judicial institutions of BiH, the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH, and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council. The arrival of several hundred citizens from several BiH cities is expected.
