(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has formed a case and is conducting checks regarding the gathering organized on March 11 at the "Igman" company in Konjic, confirmed for the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIRN BiH).
At this moment, the Prosecutor's Office could not provide more details to BIRN BiH about this investigation, which was initiated after this company organized a gathering to mark the company's anniversary. Authorities announced that the coronavirus spread occurred at that gathering.
The first case of coronavirus in BiH was recorded on March 5, after which experts recommended avoiding gatherings.
Earlier, the "Igman" company issued a statement stating that the order prohibiting public gatherings in the Federation was issued six days later, on March 17 this year, and that the gathering was held in accordance with the measures in force at the time. After it was confirmed that the director of this company, Đahid Muratbegović, tested positive for coronavirus, the company "Igman" suspended production for a period of two weeks.
According to the latest information, a so-called cluster of infected people with the virus emerged in Konjic after the party – so far there are 22 confirmed cases, while the director Muratbegović's driver passed away yesterday.
The University Clinical Hospital Mostar confirmed that Muratbegović was hospitalized today after having been in home isolation until now.
