(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has received a criminal complaint filed by BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić against the BiH Presidency Chairman, Milorad Dodik, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH confirmed to the Patria news agency.
"Following the receipt of the complaint, a case has been formed and checks will be carried out," stated the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić, as he had announced, filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor's Office of BiH on May 14 against the BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik.
Komšić filed the criminal complaint due to Dodik's statements on Sunday at the commemoration of the anniversary of the Third Infantry (RS) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH, which inherits the tradition of the former RS Army.
Dodik stated at the time that the decision to abolish the Army of Republika Srpska was a mistake, and that the formation of the Armed Forces of BiH was under pressure from the international factor. He also requested that the command of that regiment have more than half of its ranks dressed in the uniforms of the former RS Army at the next commemoration, "because it is their day".
Komšić had previously stated that Dodik's actions were a direct blow to the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the stability of the entire region. He added that members of the Armed Forces of BiH can only wear uniforms prescribed by law.
The Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) in BiH also announced today – without the signature of the Russian Federation – that the PIC "unequivocally confirms that the Armed Forces of BiH represent a key element of stability, cohesion, and security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the PIC supports the role they play both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in several international peacekeeping missions." The PIC reminds that the Presidency of BiH is the supreme commander of the Armed Forces of BiH, and all members of the Presidency of BiH have a legal obligation to ensure the functioning of the Armed Forces of BiH – which is an exclusive state competence – and cannot question them in any way.
