BiH Prosecutor's Office "combs through" BiH institutions that received a qualified opinion

After the discovery of a 104 million convertible mark affair concerning the printing of identity cards and driver's licenses, as determined by the auditors of the BiH Audit Office, the BiH Prosecutor's Office is conducting checks related to the Agency for the Issuance of Identification Documents of BiH (IDDEEA), the Patria News Agency has learned.

As confirmed to NAP by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, reports from the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) for seven BiH institutions that received a qualified opinion from the BiH Audit Office arrived eight days ago.

- SIPA submitted information to the BiH Prosecutor's Office eight days ago regarding seven BiH institutions that received a qualified opinion from the Audit Office, including IDDEEA. After the submitted material is analyzed, the BiH Prosecutor's Office will make a decision on further activities – they told NAP from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

Otherwise, as we wrote earlier, Dževad Nekić, Deputy Auditor General, submitted a letter in May to the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) detailing all irregularities regarding the illegal contract worth 104 million KM for the procurement of identity cards and driver's licenses concluded with the company "Mülbauer".

- Based on the established findings, and in accordance with the Audit Law, we submitted a letter in May to the competent law enforcement agencies informing them that we have established significant irregularities, i.e., violations of the law, in the procedure for selecting a supplier for printing identity cards and driver's licenses – says Nekić, adding that there were no negotiation procedures, but rather agreement procedures in this process.
