Prosecutor announced that Adnan Ćatić was transferred to prison

(Patria) - German boxer of Bosnian origin Adnan Ćatić, alias Felix Sturm, was arrested on Friday in Cologne, Bild reported, and the police confirmed.

"Felix Sturm was arrested at the Fibo fitness fair, which is being held this weekend in Cologne," said a police spokesperson. A criminal complaint has been filed against the boxer for tax evasion. The media were interested in why Ćatić was arrested at the fair?

"The reason is that Ćatić has recently been living in Bosnia and Herzegovina with his family and was unavailable to German judicial authorities," said the police spokesperson.

The media remind that this is not the first time that the former world boxing champion has had problems with the police. In 2015, the prosecution conducted an investigation against Ćatić for attempted incitement to murder.

Also, the super middleweight champion made headlines due to a positive doping test. Ćatić was tested after his victory on October 20, 2016, in Oberhausen against Russian Fedor Chudinov and tested positive for the anabolic substance hydroxy-stanozolol.

Regarding Ćatić's arrest, the acting prosecutor Renke Hoogendoorn also commented, stating that he was taken to the city prison, which means he will likely not be released until a new prosecutorial decision.
