Turkish authorities approve visit to arrested Bosnian student Selmir Mašetović

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Turkish authorities have approved a consular visit to the arrested student from BiH, Selmir Mašetović. 

Mašetović was arrested on 22 May on charges of being a member of the FETO organization, which Turkish authorities consider terrorist. He is currently in detention in the city of Ušak.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced yesterday that the Consulate General of BiH in Istanbul is still awaiting approval from Turkish authorities for a consular visit to the Bosnian student Selmir Mašetović.

- The Consulate General in Istanbul communicated with the parents, informed them of the situation and information from the competent Turkish prosecutor's office, and on 30 May 2018 sent a letter to the Prosecutor's Office of the city of Ušak for a consular visit. At the same time, the Embassy of BiH in Ankara contacted the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey through diplomatic channels - stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country.
