
(Patria) - Continuing his visit to the three-day International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference
DIMDEX 2024, held in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, since March 4, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Defence, Zukan Helez, held an official meeting with the Turkish Secretary for Military Industry, Haluk Gorgun.
The interlocutors discussed various aspects of the modernization of the Armed Forces of BiH and cooperation with military industry companies from BiH. Views were exchanged on how best to utilize the agreement between BiH and the Republic of Turkey, through which the Turkish government has allocated financial resources for Turkish companies that would participate in equipping the AF of BiH with their products.
The possibilities of the NATO Defence Capacity Building (DCB) package for BiH were also discussed.
"We want even closer cooperation with BiH, and many of our companies want to actively participate in this and help the AF of BiH. We are ready to supply certain combat materiel to Bosnia and Herzegovina on an extremely short notice," said the Turkish Secretary for Military Industry, Gorgun.
"We have long historical ties with Turkey. It is among our most significant partners, and we will undertake everything to ensure cooperation is realized to mutual satisfaction," concluded Minister Helez.
The delegation of the MoD and AF of BiH at the exhibition in Doha also held separate talks with Turkish manufacturers BMC, Baykar, and Ekovar, Italian Leonardo, and French MBDA.
