(Patria) - The Turkish Ministry of Defence announced that around 20 targets of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were destroyed in an air operation in Iraq, including caves, shelters and warehouses.
Earlier on Sunday, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device near the entrance to the Ministry of Interior in Ankara, injuring two police officers. The other attacker was killed in a shootout with police.
A news agency close to the PKK said the group had claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
The attack occurred a few hours before the Turkish parliament was set to reconvene after a three-month summer recess with an address by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan delivered his speech in parliament as planned and called the attack "the last convulsions of terrorism."
