Turkish police have arrested nearly 600 suspects for participating in terrorist activities, said Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu today, reports the Patria News Agency.
- In operations in 22 provinces, 590 people have been arrested, suspected of being members of three terrorist organizations and posing a threat to national security, Davutoglu told a press conference in Ankara.
Turkey has launched an anti-terrorist operation against ISIL and pro-Kurdish rebels, Sputnik reminds.
The operation followed a terrorist attack in the Turkish city of Suruc on July 20, in which 32 people were killed and more than 100 were injured.
