(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the latest political developments and regional issues after a government meeting where Palestine was discussed.
It was emphasized that Turkey is closely following developments in the Middle East. Other issues discussed at the meeting included the fight against terrorism, inflation targets, and improvements in economic indicators.
"Unfortunately, Western actors, especially the US, have become prisoners of Israel, a handful of fanatical Zionists. Turkey is doing everything in its power to end the 'barbarism' that has claimed the lives of 40,000 innocents in Gaza in the past 10 months, as soon as possible," Erdogan said.
He added that no atrocities will stop Turkey's support for the Palestinians.
"Turkey, with all its resources, stands by Palestine in these difficult days of struggle for its survival. Whatever atrocities the bloodthirsty network of genocide commits, it will not prevent Turkey, the Turkish people, from showing solidarity with the Palestinians," Erdogan stated.
He concluded by saying that the legal team of the Turkish parliament will submit a petition to join the genocide lawsuit against Israel to the International Criminal Court in The Hague this Wednesday.
