Turkey: US attack on Iran could cause a global war

(Patria) - Turkey has warned that a US attack on Iran could turn a regional conflict into a global one, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, adding that Ankara is deeply concerned about the possible consequences after the attack.

The ministry's statement reads that the spread of the conflict into a wider global war must not be allowed and calls on all parties to act responsibly and immediately cease attacks.

The ministry reiterated the stance previously expressed by other countries – that the dispute over Iran's nuclear program can only be resolved through negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

Let us recall that in the early morning hours, the United States carried out an attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities – Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. This is the strongest attack on Iran's nuclear program to date.
