Turkish authorities have detained 26 people as part of an investigation following a car bomb explosion in Viransehir in the southeast of the country, the provincial governor's office said on Saturday, reports Patria.
The vehicle, packed with explosives, detonated on Friday evening in the garden of a residential complex housing judges and prosecutors, killing one child and injuring 17 people.
A guard at the residential complex was also killed in the attack, according to a statement from the governor's office on Saturday.
"A total of 26 people, including the owner of the vehicle, have been detained," the statement said.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. The governor of Sanliurfa province, Gungor Azim Tuna, said, as reported by the state news agency Anadolu, that the attack was carried out by militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the EU, and the US, launched an armed separatist rebellion in 1984, and more than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict.
The ceasefire between the PKK and the authorities was broken in July 2015, and thousands of people have been killed in the conflict since then.
