(Patria) - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Friday that US President Joe Biden's visit to Israel this week represents US approval of the destruction in Gaza and added that it was "recorded by history," Reuters reported.
In an interview with state broadcaster TRT Haber, Fidan said that Israel had "changed the narrative" about its involvement in the explosion at a Gaza hospital on Tuesday, and added that he hopes the summit in Cairo on Saturday will bring an agreement to halt the Israeli offensive.
"Of course, that Biden came there under these circumstances and was in a position, in a way, to approve the destruction in Gaza, has been recorded in history," Fidan said.
"For many, this is not a surprise, but it creates a perception that could lead to many different outcomes for America."
He also said that Turkey is proposing a system of guarantees to its counterparts in order to find a lasting solution to the conflict, adding that Turkey is ready to be a guarantor for the Palestinian side.
He also called on other countries in the region to get involved.
