(Patria) - Turkey has maintained its role as the leading provider of humanitarian aid to Gaza, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday.
Erdogan added that Ankara sent the ninth ship with 3,774 tons of humanitarian supplies to the Palestinian enclave.
Addressing reporters after a cabinet meeting, he said that Turkey had not allowed exports to Israel that could be used for military purposes long before the current military offensive on Gaza began last October.
Erdogan highlighted Turkey's role as a stable actor amid global turmoil, attributing it to its balanced foreign policy and achievements in the defense industry.
- Pouring fuel on the fire and continuously pleasing the Netanyahu administration will bring no one any good - Erdogan believes.
He also adds that as long as the "oppression and genocide" in Gaza continue, new tensions can be expected in the region.
