Turković: No need to wait for the budget, a decision on financing elections can be made tomorrow

(Patria) - Deputy Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turković participated today in a meeting of the leaders of the Council of Ministers of BiH with ambassadors of the European Union, OSCE, USA, Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, and the topic was the urgent provision of financing for the elections.

"The seriousness of the situation, the endangerment of citizens' democratic rights, and who bears responsibility for the situation we are in were clearly pointed out. I stated that all steps towards adopting the budget are good, but they are not a guarantee that money for the elections will be secured, considering all the procedures that await us until the final adoption of the budget. It is necessary to immediately resolve the issue of financing the elections and continue with the full capacity adoption of the budget," Turković stated. 

At the meeting, it was proposed that the decision that ministers from HDZ rejected last time be proposed again at tomorrow's session. 

"Chairman Tegeltija said that he is ready to do so if he has confirmation from the deputy that it will be adopted. He received my confirmation at this meeting with the ambassadors. There is absolutely no justification for blocking the holding and financing of elections. And these are very clear messages that we received from our partners at the meeting as well," Turković emphasized.
