Turković and Tegeltija with Sattler: Stimulate the economy and bring back jobs

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija and Deputy Chairmen, Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bisera Turković met today in Sarajevo with the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler.

The meeting discussed the current political and economic situation in BiH in light of the continuation of European integration. Chairman Tegeltija emphasized on this occasion the commitment of the Council of Ministers to continue BiH's European path by fulfilling the priorities from the European Commission's Opinion, with full respect for the Constitution and the Dayton Agreement, and a commitment to visible economic progress.

The interlocutors assessed that it is necessary to adopt the memorandum as soon as possible in order to conclude the Agreement on the use of EU macro-financial assistance funds. It was jointly stated that in order to overcome the economic consequences caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it is necessary to urgently continue reform processes and implement socio-economic measures, and in this context, to stimulate economic activities and bring back jobs.

Opinions were also exchanged on investment plans for the next period, and Chairman Tegeltija thanked Ambassador Sattler on this occasion for his efforts in providing assistance to the citizens and institutions of BiH in order to cope with the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
