The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian athlete Amel Tuka is concluding the most successful season of his career today in Brussels with the Diamond League final, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
We remind you that Amel entered the very top of athletics with his performance and victory at the Diamond League in Monaco.
He has great chances for victory in the 800-meter race today as well.
With the victory in Monaco, he won four points and holds fourth place in the overall standings, behind leader Nijel Amos of Botswana with 12 points. Second-placed Kenyan David Rudisha (6) and third-placed Hassan Suoleiman from Djibouti (5) will not compete in Brussels.
If Tuka wins and Amos is not among the top three, our athlete would win another four points, which would be doubled considering it is the final.
Twelve athletes are registered for the 800-meter race, and besides Amos, Tuka's biggest competitors will be Poland's Kszczot, Ethiopia's Aman, France's Bosse, and Morocco's Balhambel.
The 800m race starts tonight at 8:56 PM.
