Truss: Great Britain welcomes US sanctions

(Patria) - British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss welcomed on Twitter the decision of the United States of America (USA) to include Milorad Dodik and Alternativna televizija (ATV) from Banja Luka on the sanctions list.

"Corruption is a threat to freedom, democracy and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Great Britain welcomes the targeted US sanctions that hold those responsible accountable. We continue to work with allies to support Bosnia and Herzegovina and for freedom in the region," Truss wrote on Twitter.

Yesterday, the British Ambassador to BiH, Matt Field, also commented on the sanctions list.

"The United Kingdom welcomes today's imposition of US sanctions due to existing threats to BiH's stability. Destabilization and corruption pose a threat to the progress made in the last 26 years. The UK will continue to work with partners to provide support to BiH," Field stated.
