Truss in Lithuania: Weaken Russia's economy so it can no longer fund Putin and the war machine

(Patria) - British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is visiting Lithuania with NATO allies. She emphasized that they stand strongly with Ukraine and condemn Russian aggression.

She says that the fight against Russian aggression is a fight "not only for Ukraine's freedom and self-determination" but also for "all our freedom and security".

Citing the steps the UK has already taken, she insists that they must go further by including all Russian banks in the Swift payment system ban and reducing dependence on oil and gas from Russia.

"We must degrade the Russian economy." Truss says.

She announced tomorrow's meeting of the G7, Canada, and the EU Council for External Affairs.

"We must ensure that the Russian economy is weakened so that it is unable to continue funding Putin and the war machine," Truss said.
