Trump's ultimatum to Hamas: Accept peace plan by Sunday or face 'hell'

(Patria) - US President Donald Trump gave Hamas an ultimatum today to respond to his peace plan for Gaza, stating that if they do not agree to the proposal by Sunday at 6:00 PM Eastern Time, "hell will break loose like no one has ever seen before".

Trump has been awaiting Hamas's response since Monday to the 20-point plan he presented at the White House along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu said at the time that Israel had agreed to the framework of the plan, which envisages an end to the war, the release of hostages, and a plan for the reconstruction of the devastated enclave.

Hamas has not yet given a final answer, and Trump showed impatience for a reaction in a social media post today.

"The details of the document are known to the whole world, and they are excellent for everyone. We will have peace in the Middle East one way or another. Violence and bloodshed will stop. Release the hostages, all of them, including the bodies of those who are dead, immediately," Trump wrote.

He emphasized that an agreement with Hamas must be reached by Sunday evening, at 6:00 PM Washington time.

"All countries have agreed. If this last attempt at a deal is not reached, hell will break loose against Hamas like no one has ever seen. Peace in the Middle East will be achieved one way or another," Trump wrote.

He urged "all innocent Palestinians" to leave the areas of Gaza under Israeli siege and move to safer parts of Gaza.

"Everyone will be well taken care of by those waiting to help. Fortunately for Hamas, they will still get a last chance," Trump stated.

We remind you that Trump presented a 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which included, among other things, proposals for Hamas to deactivate its armed structures, for all hostages to be released, and for an international body to be formed to oversee the transitional governance of Gaza.

Hamas said that the proposed agreement does not serve the interests of the Palestinians, who believe that the conditions in the plan favor Israel and do not ensure rights or lasting peace.
