(Patria) – White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has tested positive for coronavirus, Western media reported.
Meadows (61) is the latest in a series of staff members of the still-current President Donald Trump to test positive for Covid-19.
The White House Chief of Staff announced he was positive after Tuesday's election, but according to CNN, it is unclear when he was tested or when he found out he was positive.
He was often seen in public without a mask, and publicly expressed skepticism about epidemiological measures.
Meadows traveled with Trump on Air Force One during the final leg of the election campaign on Sunday and Monday, and also accompanied the president during a visit to campaign headquarters on Tuesday. He also attended a party on election night when he came into close contact with the president's family. CNN writes that Meadows did not wear a mask at any of these events.
– We are not going to control the pandemic, White House Chief of Staff Meadows told CNN on one occasion, explaining that 'what we can control are vaccines, therapeutics and other ways to get after this disease.'
