Trump: We ended the war in Gaza

(Patria) - US President Donald Trump stated today at the White House that a "historic success" was achieved in the Middle East last night.

- We ended the war in Gaza and, in fact, on a much broader scale, created peace. I think it will be lasting peace, I hope eternal peace - said Trump.

He added that the remaining hostages should be released "on Monday or Tuesday".

- Their return is a complicated process, they are in places you wouldn't want to be - says Trump.

He emphasized that it will be a "day of joy" and announced that he will try to travel to the region.

- We are going to Egypt, where we will have a signing. One has already been signed on my behalf, but we will also have an official signing - adds Trump.

Speaking about the future of Gaza, he said that the area "will be slowly rebuilt".

- I think you will see some extraordinary countries get involved, invest a lot of money, and take care of things - says Trump.

He notes that everything fell into place for an agreement to be reached.

- I think the attack on Iran in June was very important because if that hadn't happened, they would probably have nuclear weapons by now, several of them, and therefore, even if we had signed an agreement, a big dark cloud would have hung over it. It wouldn't be the same - he assessed.

He also points out that he believes Iran "now wants to work towards peace".

- They informed us and confirmed that they fully support this agreement. They think it's a great thing. We would like them to be able to rebuild their country too, but they cannot have nuclear weapons - added the US President.

On June 22, the US bombed several key Iranian nuclear facilities after an exchange of airstrikes between Israel and Iran.
