Donald Trump, the newly elected US President who will take office in January, said in his first television interview for CBS after his victory that he will remain consistent with his tough policy on immigration and that he will build a fence between the US and Mexico. He said that in some parts, a "wall is more appropriate", reports Patria.
He said he plans to deport people who are criminals and have criminal records, who are gang members, drug dealers.
- We have quite a few of them, almost three million, we will expel them from the country or we will imprison them. We will expel them because they are here illegally - Trump said.
He explained that once the border is secured, the Immigration Office will determine the status of other undocumented immigrants.
- Once everything normalizes, we will decide about these people. The most important thing is to secure the border - Trump emphasized.
During his election campaign, Trump repeatedly said that he would build a wall to prevent the entry of illegal migrants from Mexico.
