Trump: We are going to Mars soon, there is room for warfare there

WASHINGTON, (Patria) - US President Donald Trump stated that perhaps one day there will be American "space forces" that will fight side by side with aviation, ground troops and other branches of the US military, announcing a human mission to Mars as something that will be "very soon" and that would not have happened if Hillary Clinton had won the 2016 presidential election, American media reported, as cited by Tanjug.

AP reports that Trump, addressing Marines and other soldiers at Miramar Air Station in San Diego, spoke about his administration's investments in space exploration, saying that space is becoming "an area where warfare is possible".

It is stated that Trump said the idea of space forces started as a spontaneous comment, but he decided it was a great idea.

- We are going to Mars very soon. You wouldn't be going to Mars if my opponent (Hillary Clinton) had won, I'll tell you that. You wouldn't even be thinking about it - said the US President.
