Trump recorded admitting he holds classified document about Iran attack

Federal prosecutors have a 2021 audio recording in which former President Donald Trump admits to holding a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran after leaving the White House, CNN reported. CNN has not listened to the recording but quoted multiple unidentified sources describing it, Reuters reported.

On the recording, Trump, who is seeking the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, is heard acknowledging that he retained classified material after leaving the White House in 2021.

Trump's remarks suggest he would like to share the information but is aware of the limitations on his ability to declassify documents after leaving office, two sources told CNN.

A representative for Trump did not immediately respond to the claims.
