(Patria) - President Donald Trump said his administration will conduct a "major" tariff investigation into furniture entering the United States, Reuters reported.
"Furniture coming from other countries into the United States will be subject to a tariff rate that has yet to be determined," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump said the investigation will be completed within the next fifty days.
"This will bring furniture jobs back to North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, and states across the Union," Trump said.
Furniture is the latest imported product to be targeted by a national security investigation conducted by the Trump administration.
On Thursday, a national security investigation into imports of wind turbines was announced, following previous investigations focused on copper and other metals.
