(Patria) - US President Donald Trump questioned the possibility of regime change in Iran following US military strikes on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend, Reuters reported.
"It isn't politically correct to use the term 'regime change,' but if the current Iranian regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn't there be a regime change??? MIGA!!!", Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
Somewhat earlier, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also spoke on the same topic, commenting on US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
"This mission was not and is not about regime change," Hegseth told reporters at the Pentagon.
