(Patria) - US President Donald Trump will consider the advice of the Pakistani military leadership regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the blockade of which poses a serious obstacle to the continuation of negotiations with Iran. He discussed this over the phone with the Chief of the Pakistani Army, Asim Munir.
Munir warned that the blockade of the key waterway complicates dialogue, to which Trump responded that he would consider the advice.
The continuation of negotiations is uncertain. Trump announced the sending of US representatives to Islamabad, but Tehran has not yet confirmed its participation, demanding the lifting of the blockade of its ports. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that all diplomatic means should be used to reduce tensions, emphasizing that war is not in the interest of any party.
We remind you that Pakistan hosted the first high-level talks between the US and Iran since 1979 in mid-April, but without a concrete agreement.
