(Patria) - US President Donald Trump estimates the probability of success of his upcoming meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska at 75%, TASS reported.
The host of Fox News Radio asked the US head of state to estimate the probability that he would conclude that the meeting was not worth the effort after talking to Putin.
Trump said the probability of that happening was 25%.
"This meeting is set up like a chess game. This meeting sets up another meeting, but there is a 25% chance that this meeting will not be successful," the American leader pointed out.
Trump added that if his talks with Putin are successful, he could arrange a trilateral meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky. Three different locations for the meeting are currently being considered, and the possibility of holding trilateral talks in Alaska is not ruled out.
On August 8, Trump announced that he was looking forward to meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.
Plans for the talks were then confirmed by Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov. According to him, the leaders will focus on discussing options for achieving a long-term peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis.
The Kremlin expects that the next meeting between Putin and Trump will be held on Russian territory, Ushakov added.
