Trump presented a plan for normalization and economic recovery

(Patria) – U.S. President Donald Trump presented federal governors with a plan for economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, based on a gradual reactivation approach for various spheres of life.

The new guidelines assume the easing of restrictions in parts of the country where transmission of the infection has been low, while strict measures will remain in force in more endangered parts until further notice.

Trump ultimately opted for a more cautious approach to economic activation, and the plan itself recognizes that normalization is a longer process. It also includes individual governor plans that are already being implemented in the federal states.

Some federal officials warn that social distancing measures will likely remain in place until the end of the year to prevent a new wave of infection.

– We are starting life again, we are starting to rebuild our economy again, Trump said at a daily press conference, emphasizing that it is a 'gradual process'.

Parts of the country that are recording a decrease in the number of infections and are intensively conducting testing will begin to gradually open businesses and schools in three phases.

According to Trump's plan, the first phase involves strict social distancing: gatherings of more than 10 people will be avoided, as well as non-essential travel.

In the second phase, social distancing is intensified, and gatherings are limited to 50 people unless precautions are taken. Travel is allowed.

The third phase assumes normalization for most Americans, with a focus on identifying and isolating any new infections.
