SARAJEVO, (Patria) - US President Donald Trump has approved the deployment of troops to Saudi Arabia.
Trump's decision came after last week's attacks on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, which the US blames on Iran, which denies it.
The Pentagon, Reuters reports, announced that a moderate number of troops will be sent to Saudi Arabia, and the nature of their actions will be primarily defensive.
US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper also announced that the Pentagon will engage the US military in the Middle East.
"The President has approved the deployment of US forces, which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile defense," Esper said, adding that Saudi Arabia had requested support.
