(Patria) - US President Donald Trump has threatened Russia with new, high tariffs if it does not agree to a deal to end the war in Ukraine within 50 days.
Speaking at the White House alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump said he was "very dissatisfied" with Moscow's behavior.
"If there is no deal, we will impose serious tariffs – around 100 percent," Trump said.
He stated that the US will produce and send "top-notch weapons" to NATO allies, and the Alliance will then decide where these weapons are most needed.
"We will produce top-notch weapons and send them to NATO," Trump said, adding that the Alliance itself will coordinate distribution, including deliveries to Ukraine.
Trump reminded that America has spent 350 trillion on the war between Ukraine and Russia, but that it is not "his war," and that he is disappointed with President Putin because he thought everything would be over two months ago.

NATO chief Rutte described Trump's decision as historic.
"This is a really big deal," Rutte said, adding that it is a decision that will enable Ukraine to maintain its defense against Russia. He emphasized that European countries will bear the cost of acquiring weapons, to which Trump added: "That is completely logical."
Rutte concluded that this model of building European responsibility comes as a continuation of the success of the recent NATO summit, stating that "Europeans are now taking the lead."
