Trump cancels visit to Poland due to Hurricane Dorian

(Patria) – US President Donald Trump has cancelled his official visit to Poland to mark the 80th anniversary of the Nazi occupation due to Hurricane Dorian.

Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Poland instead of Trump. The visit will be an opportunity to sign an agreement between the two countries on security and cooperation regarding 5G telecommunication technologies.

The US President was scheduled to arrive in Poland early Sunday morning to attend the ceremony marking the beginning of World War II.

Trump explained his change of plans by stating that the safety of the American population threatened by the hurricane is the highest priority.

Dorian is moving towards Florida, where winds are expected to reach speeds of around 200 km/h.
