Trump: From November, we are introducing additional tariffs of 100 percent on all imports from China

(Patria) - The United States will impose additional tariffs of one hundred percent on imports from China and export controls on all critical software produced in the United States starting November 1, said U.S. President Donald Trump, Reuters reported.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: "Starting November 1, 2025 (or earlier, depending on further actions or changes taken by China), the United States will impose a 100 percent tariff on China, in addition to any tariff they currently pay."

Earlier, Trump said he no longer felt the need for a summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping this month, criticizing Beijing for hostile trade practices and threatening "massive" tariffs.

In a long and unexpected post on Truth Social, Trump complained about China imposing export controls on rare earth minerals - a key component for modern technologies.

"Some very strange things are happening in China! They are becoming very hostile," Trump said in the first post.
