Trump: We have no one to talk to in Iran, its leadership is largely 'destroyed'

(Patria) - US President Donald Trump stated that the US "has no one to talk to" in Iran, claiming that Iran's leadership is largely "destroyed".

Speaking at the "Commander in Chief" trophy award ceremony at the White House, Trump listed Iran's military capabilities, including the navy, air force, air defense, and radar, and asserted that they have "all disappeared".

- Now no one wants to be a leader there anymore. We want to talk to them, but we have no one to talk to. That suits us - said Trump.

Let us recall, after Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed on the first day of the war, his son Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed as the new leader.

Trump also reiterated the claim that Iran wanted to take control of the Middle East and that it would use nuclear weapons if it had them.

- The US had to stop that, and it should have been done a long time ago - Trump added.

At the same time, he asserted that the US is doing "extremely well" in the war with Iran and that "58 ships were disabled" in two days.

He also stated that the Iranian navy had "great ships", but that they "didn't know how to use them".

Commenting on the engagement of the US military, including earlier operations, he added: "I didn't think I would use it this much, but I'm glad I renewed it."
