Trump: 'I know nothing about the girls Epstein mentioned in emails'

(Patria) - U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has no knowledge of the girls Jeffrey Epstein mentioned in recently released emails in Congress.

"I know nothing about that. That would have been published long ago," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, according to an audio recording released by the White House.

In one of the emails, Epstein claims that Trump "knew about the girls," apparently referring to an earlier statement by Trump that Epstein was expelled from Mar-a-Lago for attempting to lure young women from the Palm Beach club. Trump previously said that Epstein was "stealing" women from Mar-a-Lago and that he was removed because he was "creepy."

Speaking about prominent Democrats whose investigation he requested today from the Department of Justice due to ties with Epstein, Trump suggested that investigators should examine why Epstein spent so much time with figures like Bill Clinton, former Harvard President Larry Summers, and other high-ranking officials.

"Jeffrey Epstein and I had a very bad relationship for many years. But he also saw power, because I was president, so he dictated a few notes to himself. You will find out what he knew about Bill Clinton, about the president of Harvard, and about all those people he knew, including JP Morgan Chase," Trump added.
