Trump not giving up: Wants a say in the election of Iran's new Ayatollah

(Patria) - US President Donald Trump said today that the new Ayatollah "will not last long" if the Iranians do not get his approval first.

- We want to make sure we don't have to come back every 10 years, when you won't have a president like me who won't allow it - Trump told ABC News.

He said that people do not want to come back in five years and do the same thing again or allow them to have nuclear weapons.

We remind you that Trump has previously said that he must be involved in the election of the new Ayatollah, while the Group of Experts said that their main criterion is that the new Ayatollah must be hated by Americans.

- Trump is still not aware of the disaster he has brought upon himself and American soldiers by assassinating our Imam, and now he wants to shape the destiny of a nation - Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated earlier.

Trump previously told Axios that he is against the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the assassinated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as the new leader.

- They are wasting time. Khamenei's son is a lightweight. I have to be involved in that appointment - he said at the time.
