Trump fires communications chief Scaramucci after only ten days

White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci was dismissed on Monday, just ten days after President Donald Trump appointed him to the position, Telegram reports, as relayed by the Patria agency. 

- Scaramucci is leaving the position of White House Communications Director. He believes it is best to provide White House Chief of Staff John Kelly with a clean slate and give him the opportunity to build his own team - announced spokesperson Sarah Sanders. 

Scaramucci's departure from office comes precisely at the request of retired General John Kelly, who on Monday became the new White House Chief of Staff, the New York Times reported.

The former Wall Street financier was appointed ten days ago. Late last week, Scaramucci used vulgar language to attack then-White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon, the New Yorker reported after a phone conversation between Scaramucci and a journalist from that publication.

On Monday, Trump appointed Kelly, a retired general, as Chief of Staff, praising him for his work at the Department of Homeland Security, reducing the number of people illegally crossing the US southern border, and implementing the entry ban for refugees and citizens of several predominantly Muslim countries.

- He will undoubtedly do a spectacular job as Chief of Staff - Trump told reporters in a brief statement in the Oval Office after Kelly was sworn in.
