Trump announced a meeting with Putin in Budapest

(Patria) - I just finished a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and it was very productive, announced US President Donald Trump.

- President Putin congratulated me and the United States on a great achievement - the establishment of peace in the Middle East, something he said has been dreamed of for centuries.

I believe that success in the Middle East will also help our negotiations to end the war with Russia/Ukraine.

President Putin thanked the First Lady Melania for her engagement with children. He was very grateful and said it would continue.

We also spent a lot of time discussing trade between Russia and the United States after the war with Ukraine ends.

At the end of the conversation, we agreed that a meeting of our high advisors would take place next week.

Initial meetings of the United States will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with various other individuals yet to be named.

The meeting location is yet to be determined. President Putin and I will then meet at an agreed-upon location, in Budapest, Hungary, to try to end this 'inglorious' war between Russia and Ukraine.

President Zelensky and I will meet tomorrow in the Oval Office, where we will discuss my conversation with President Putin and many other topics.

I believe significant progress was made in today's phone call," Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social.
