Trump: China must bear full responsibility for the pandemic

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - US President Donald Trump stated that China must bear full responsibility for the coronavirus epidemic.

Trump, in a speech on the occasion of July 4th - Independence Day, highlighted the country's success in fighting COVID-19 despite an increase in the number of new infections across the country.

He praised American "scientific genius" and emphasized that the US will certainly have a therapeutic solution and/or vaccine much before the end of this year.

The US has the highest number of deaths and infections from the virus. In the last 24 hours, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, more than 43,000 new infections have been confirmed. The situation is particularly difficult in Florida, where 11,458 new cases have been registered. Trump did not mention that almost 130,000 Americans have died from the consequences of the infection.

He said that the US has tested nearly 40 million people, and that 99 percent of infection cases are "completely harmless".

This time too, Trump criticized demonstrators who are tearing down monuments to American historical figures, stating that their goal is destruction, the BBC reported.

The American president announced that he will fight and defeat "radical leftists, Marxists, anarchists, agitators, and looters".

He addressed the audience on the lawn in front of the White House together with his wife Melania, and among those present were soldiers and healthcare workers. Demonstrators set an American flag on fire after the US president's speech.

Demonstrators chanted "One, two, three, four, slavery, genocide, and war" and "Five, six, seven, eight, America was never great".
