(Patria) - U.S. forces hit another ship on Saturday night, allegedly carrying illegal drugs off the coast of Venezuela, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday, adding that the United States will also begin investigating drug trafficking that takes place on land.
Trump made this comment during a speech at Naval Station Norfolk, alongside the aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman.
It was not immediately clear if he was referring to an attack reported by U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on Friday, Reuters reported late last night.
"In recent weeks, the Navy has supported our mission to destroy cartel terrorists... last night we carried out another one. Now we just can't find any," Trump said.
"They are no longer coming by sea, so we will now have to start looking on land because they will be forced to go on land," he added.
