Trump says Macrons are 'fine' after video of plane argument

Brigitte are 'fine', after a viral video emerged showing him pushing the French president's face away with his hands during a trip to Vietnam, AFP reported.

"Make sure the door stays closed," Trump, married three times, joked to reporters when asked if he had "marital advice from a world leader to a world leader" for Macron regarding the video.

"That wasn't good," added Trump, who held a joint press conference with billionaire Elon Musk in the Oval Office.

The incident was filmed when the door of the French presidential plane opened after landing in Hanoi on Sunday. The footage shows Brigitte Macron (72) reaching out with both hands and pushing her husband's face. Macron (47) appeared stunned but quickly recovered and turned to wave through the open door.

The 78-year-old US president, who has long had a "bromance" with his French counterpart, said he has been in touch with him since.

"I spoke to him. He is fine. They are fine. They are two really good people. I know them very well," added Trump. "I don't know what it was about."

Macron on Monday denied that the couple had a family dispute. He blamed disinformation campaigns for trying to give false meaning to the footage. Musk, who was marking his departure from the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, took the opportunity to joke at Macron's expense. When asked about a bruise he had, he replied "I haven't been anywhere near France," to the apparent confusion of the reporter who asked him to explain
