Trump says he expects to talk to Putin soon

(Patria) - US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Politico that he expects to talk to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin soon, expressing hope that their conversation "will go well", TASS reported last night.

The US leader also said he expects to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky this weekend.

"I think it will go well with him (Zelensky - TASS). I think it will go well with (Vladimir) Putin," Trump said, adding that he expects to talk to the Russian leader "soon, as much as I want".

Earlier on Friday, Zelensky said he expects to discuss territory at a meeting with Trump in Florida on December 28, including the potential withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas and the use of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
