(Patria) - Former US President Donald Trump stated today that he will not participate in another debate against his presidential election rival Kamala Harris ahead of the November 5 election, after several polls showed he lost to her in the first duel.
"THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!", wrote the Republican presidential candidate on the social network Truth Social, after the debate with US President Joe Biden in June and Vice President Harris earlier this week.
On the other hand, Harris told supporters at a rally in North Carolina today that she believes she and Trump owe American voters another debate, reports RSE.
Although Trump praised his performance on Tuesday against Harris, six Republican donors and three Trump advisors who spoke to Reuters said they thought Harris won the debate mainly because Trump could not stick to his message.
The debate attracted 67.1 million television viewers, according to Nielsen data.
Most people who watched the debate said Harris was better than Trump, according to a CNN poll released shortly after the debate.
A YouGov poll showed that 54 percent of respondents said Harris won, while 31 percent of them believe Trump won.
