Trump: This morning I ordered an attack, we killed many ISIL members

(Patria) - US President Donald Trump announced that "many" ISIL members were killed in US airstrikes he ordered this morning.

"This morning I ordered precise military airstrikes on a senior ISIL attack planner and other terrorists he recruited and led in Somalia," Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social.

"These killers, whom we found hiding in caves, were threatening the United States and our allies. The caves where they live were destroyed in the attacks, and many terrorists were killed, without any civilians being harmed in any way," he added.

He noted that the US military had been trying to kill the attack planner for years, but that former President Joe Biden and his friends had not acted quickly enough to get the job done.

"I did! The message to ISIL and everyone else who would attack Americans is: WE WILL FIND YOU AND WE WILL KILL YOU," Trump emphasized.

Trump did not name the individuals killed in the attack, nor did he provide additional details about the location.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the attacks by US Africa Command were directed by Trump and coordinated with the government of Somalia. The initial assessment by the Pentagon showed that "more" operatives were killed and that no civilians were harmed.
