Trump Appoints Rubio and Blair to 'Gaza Peace Committee'

(Patria) - The White House announced that US President Donald Trump yesterday appointed Secretary of State Marco Rubio and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair as founders of the 'Peace Committee' for Gaza, AFP reported.

Trump also appointed his special envoy Steve Witkoff, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and World Bank President Ajay Banga among those on the "founding executive committee" of seven members, the statement said.

Major General Jasper Jeffers, who chaired the US-Israeli ceasefire last year, has been appointed commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza, Al Arabiya reported.

The White House announced that Aryeh Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum will be senior advisors to the Committee.
