(Patria) - US President Donald Trump announced that he and his wife Melania Trump will attend
Pope Francis' funeral in Rome. He announced this on the social network Truth Social, Reuters reported.
In a previous interaction with journalists at the White House, when asked about his message to Catholics, Trump expressed solidarity with them.
"We love you all. We are with all of you. They were with me during the election, as you know, very strongly. It is an honor to have the support of Catholics. And I feel very bad for them because they love the Pope," Trump said.
Pope Francis passed away on Monday, April 21, at the age of 88.
