(Patria) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and US President Donald Trump discussed the war in Ukraine and efforts to combat the illegal fentanyl trade on Saturday, according to a statement from Trudeau's office, Reuters reported.
The call came as leaders of the Group of Seven major industrialized countries plan to hold a call on Monday with the NATO Secretary General, the heads of the European Union, and the leaders of Romania and Poland to discuss the war in Ukraine.
The White House said both Trump and Trudeau expressed a desire to see an end to the three-year war.
"The leaders said they both look forward to the call on Monday," the White House statement said.
