Three Months Since the Murder of Two Police Officers: Detention Extension Requested for Srećko Trifković

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office has requested a two-month extension of detention for Srećko Trifković, who is linked to the murder of Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović on October 26, 2018, in the Alipašino Polje neighborhood.

KS Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Azra Bavčić told the Patria agency that the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is seeking a new extension of Trifković's detention due to the risk that he might influence witnesses, conceal evidence, or re-offend if released, and that his release would cause public unrest.

Trifković was arrested on October 29 last year, and his legal team claims they do not know what exactly their client is suspected of. The request for the case to be taken over by the State Prosecutor's Office, i.e., the State Court where the Volan case is already included, was rejected.

In addition to Trifković, Slaven Dakić and Miloš Obradov are also in detention and are linked to the murder of the Sarajevo police officers.

The investigation is being conducted by the KS Prosecutor's Office with the assistance of all police agencies, and security experts have previously emphasized that the case should be transferred to the BiH Prosecutor's Office for efficiency, given that it also involves the territory of Republika Srpska where the KS Prosecutor's Office has no jurisdiction, nor do police agencies except SIPA.
